About Nitrocellulose Lacquer

All finishes are applied using traditional nitrocellulose lacquer—the same material used on vintage instruments from 1954–1970. Unlike modern polyurethane finishes, nitrocellulose is a living finish that breathes with the wood.

Over time, nitrocellulose naturally ages, fades, and develops a warm amber patina. Colors will shift subtly with exposure to light and air. Sunbursts deepen. Whites cream. Blues soften. This is not a defect—it's the authentic character of vintage-correct finishing.

Every guitar becomes unique as it ages, developing its own story through natural finish evolution.
